Women in Cybersecurity (WiCyS) – La Trobe University Student Chapter

Women in CyberSecurity (WiCyS) is a global organisation dedicated to advancing and empowering women in cybersecurity through education, mentorship, and career opportunities.
Founded in 2013 by Dr. Ambareen Siraj with support from a National Science Foundation grant awarded to Tennessee Tech University, WiCyS has grown into a premier organization connecting academia, government, and industry to drive diversity and innovation in cybersecurity.
As the first WiCyS student chapter in Australia, WiCyS La Trobe University, under the La Trobe Cybersecurity Club, actively promotes education, leadership, and industry involvement to empower Women in Cybersecurity. We provide students with opportunities to develop technical and professional skills through networking events, mentorship programs, and hands-on experiences. Our goal is to create an inclusive and supportive community that champions gender diversity and fosters the next generation of cybersecurity professionals.
